Roland Schappert founded the project label r-records in 2022 with the help of music critic Joachim Ody. Initially, 3 LPs were planned in close succession, following the concept of inner and outer travel and open to numerous influences of a musical and intellectual nature. ROUTE 1<\/em> (LP + digital) and ROUTE 2<\/em> (double LP + digital) were released in the same year. Vinyl distribution for these first LPs was handled by a-musik.com<\/a>, Cologne.
The project label stands for abstraction and clarity on the one hand, and creates sound spaces for diverse associations, images and imaginary scenes on the other. We have been working with KOMPAKT DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION since May 2025. <\/span>Releases of sessions with other contributors are planned.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Roland Schappert (R. Schappert) pursues border crossings in the form of an \u201corganic digitality\u201d oscillating between melos, sound and rhythm He develops a concise tonal language that is inherent in all tracks and radiates a pleasant emotional warmth. The musician creates each synthesizer sound individually and always strives for an organic sounding wealth of variations. A deep, warm bass line often lays the foundation for an expressive mood, complemented by varied, insistent beats and vice versa, rounded off by pointed atmospheric sounds. Sometimes only complex alternating tone sequences are heard, inviting the listeners to let their mind wander.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Perhaps the cycle of life of every human and animal being – from birth to death – can also be described as an individual route. As a change of cultures, on whose foundation space is given to possible further evolutions. Routes always lead only to a temporary Aktualit\u00e4tsjetzt<\/em> that builds itself up by means of inexhaustible creative energy – ready to set off further into still undreamed-of realms. Roland Schappert achieves this with his music, which is based on many years of practice, draws on a variety of sound languages and, with the technical possibilities of today, leads to a collection of contemporary musical structures.”<\/p>
